Welcome to Mountain State Adventures! This blog is meant to chronicle mine and my boyfriend’s adventures around West Virginia, primarily while we conquer the West Virginia State Parks’ VIPP program and while we drive our way through the book Scenic Driving in West Virginia. We’re both travel enthusiasts and share a passion for our home state, so road tripping our way through the hills and valleys of West Virginia was really a no-brainer. We’re also into geocaching (for a quick overview of the outdoor hobby, click here) so you might also see a few posts about our favorite Mountain State caches.
Neither Jon nor myself (I’m Sara, by the way) are strangers to the roads of West Virginia; I’ve been a frequent in-state tourist going on 25 years now and Jon regularly explores the back country in search of perfect camping and fishing locations. Since we began seeing each other in the summer of 2011, we have already explored a great deal of the state together but what we’re most excited about is our future travels together and the memories we plan to make. This blog serves as a collection of moments that Jon and I hope to preserve and in the process, I hope you see that West Virginia truly is Wild and Wonderful.
